'La Foret' means the forest. That is the name of the lake and house. The house and 2.2 acre lake are set in the middle of 5 acres of a private forested area. The lake is around 40 years old and the previous owner had it made. When Symon and Anthony purchased the lake in 2004, they drained it down and removed all the small and unwanted fish. They then stocked it with 80 carp over 20 lbs, up to 40 lbs. The lake ranges in depth from around 13 ft at the dam end to 1 ft down in the shallows. The average is around 5 ft. The lake is well stocked with around 80 carp over 20 lbs to over 40 lbs with a good number of 30 lbs plus fish. The carp are growing well as they are fed all year round. The carp have all come from the same fish farmer used for Millstone Pool and all of the Mirror Pool fisheries stock. These high quality, fast growing fish are recognised as being some of the finest in the country.
